With sites like FA and others purging members who they don’t like, or charging asinine pricing structures to allow you to have a place to be yourself, something had to give… And now it has. So to all of you out there who feel the necessity to change the rules, our response is to change the game

Community pride should not come at a price, and we have gathered a great group of people who agree with this philosophy. The server space here is being donated. Our header and splash-page Anubis artwork was donated, and page art and pictures have been donated, all by kinksters who believe in the need for this site.

So then, how do we survive? Life does not exist in a black hole. This we understand. Others have attempted this, and few have succeeded. We have even been told “Good luck with that business model”, but that’s the thing, we are not a business.

Here is the plan:

 We Shall Launch in 3 Stages:

Stage 1:

The overhaul of the blog in to an easily navigable e-zine, Subscriber Registration, and the ability for subscribers to contribute material to be posted in the e-zine.

Many sites over the years have launched before the bugs have been ironed out, so we are going to clear the bugs in each stage so we can make sure that the whole experience is one you want to use, and not a complete mess.

So what can you do in Stage 1?

-Register your login: With the members area coming soon, you can now register your user ID and it will be yours when the profiles section launches

-View and contribute to the new e-Zine: This is a community site, we want this to be a place for us. Have content to share? please contribute, we shall be happy to post anything that fits within the spirit of this site, and anything we are able to.

-Feedback and Assist: One set of eyes sees things as it wants to. Have ideas to make the current launch better? Are you an artist, Designer, photographer etc. who has content to ad to the physical design? We want to hear from you.

Stage 2: 

The launch of the store, the lifeblood of this site. You see some of the manufacturers offer an affiliateship, a kickback on your purchases. It is by this way that we shall pump money back in to the site. Support us by buying the gear you would have purchased anyway, through our store.

“So the store will just be a database of what I can find elsewhere?”

No. Though we shall feature the best gear from manufacturers from all over the world, that is just the tip of the iceberg.

Along with the products shall be honest reviews and in use pix when applicable. Also the ability for you to add your own thoughts and reviews on the products as well.

Also we have been chatting with manufactures about Asylum proprietary gear designs, Asylum Gear, and a gear thrift store…

Yes, big plans on the plate for the future of the store…

Stage 3:

Ah, yes… Stage 3, the meat of the site. The members area…

What does this exactly mean at this point? That still shall be seen, but it shall offer a place for gear and bondage enthusiasts to have a place to be who they want to…

“But come on, Asylum, you must have rules… I mean, what’s the catch?”

Ok, sure, we shall have guidelines. This is a gear and bondage site. What constitutes as gear I shall leave up to you….

But there must be rules, there must be oversight, and yes… I shall be monitoring pictures, and allowing people to report ones to me that don’t meet these rules…

Look, you have 100′s of sites you can post pix and vids of you naked jerking off by yourself to a camera. Just not here. It’s not gear, it’s not bondage, and it’s not in the spirit of this site. Sorry.

Standards: Scat, Blood, Kids, Animals

Legal grey lines are things we shall not be toying with, I really don’t care what the age of consent in your state is, in the Asylum its 18, and we reserve the right to request proof of age. I am also quite aware that the e-zine has 2 bloodplay videos and pictures, one paddling and one whipping. The difference is that I was there, know how far it went, and that safety was a consideration. So yes it may be a double standard, but….bwahahahaha

Flamewars, Trolling, Hateful or Harmful Postings

 This shall not be allowed, Period. This is a site that shall welcome people of many different kinks, and interests. If “Leatherdaddy123″ posts a picture of a boy tied up with an access hole poked in the butt of his diaper, and you think that is sick, click away. Ugly responses to someone sharing the pride in who they are shall not be tolerated. Your post will be deleted and you shall receive a warning. Only one warning shall be given before you will be banned. Play nicely kids, we are all adults here. If you want to troll you can find your own kind on the sites we are abandoning.

Advertising

Ah, I can see now that this is one you guys are going to call me out on, yet here is the way I look at it. Advertising in open forum or posts is akin to spam. We can set up a “for sale” section if necessary for used gear. If you have commercial products to sell perhaps you should contact me and we can get them listed in the store if they meet the general nature of the site and the store as well. The caveat to this is any new additions of gear or manufacturers that we add to the store I shall post about, and I am sure when a new book of mine comes out you may see a banner as well. Guess what, its my site, and I have its best interest at heart, any sales is good for the site and good for the community using it.
