Leather Bondage Suit

A long time ago, in a city far, far away, i remember seeing an old edition of Drummer magazine in which they reviewed the kink artist Lazy Leo, and one of the drawing haunted me for a really long time. It was entitled Island Fantasies, and it depicted three tightly restricted slaves and a supervisor slave preparing a couple of other slaves for suspension bondage. The unusual aspect of the drawing that got me so hot was that the two lucky… erm… i mean, “unfortunate”… the unfortunately lucky slaves were being encased in full body leather suits that were laced tightly to their bodies, and the supervisor slave appeared to be encased in a leather bondage suit. For years i desperately wanted a suit like those suits, but they didn’t seem to exist anywhere.

Fast forward a few short years and i caught sight of one of the first full-body leather bondage suits [1] made by David Samuel Menkes [2], a custom leather manufacturer in New York City. Needless to say i was floored! Or more likely on my knees preying that i could buy one of those suits, but being a poor college student at the time meant it was very unlikely to happen.

Fast forward a few more years and finally being gainfully employed with a decent pay cheque coming in, i was finally able to start buying some heavy-duty bondage gear. By this time my list of “gear to own” had grown quite lengthy, but still close to the top was a leather bondage suit.

On 17th April 1996 i made this dream a reality… i picked up the phone and called Mr.S Leather Co. [3] in San Francisco and placed my 3rd massive order for gear; i got into the habit of saving for a few months and then spending big on multi-item purchases at Mr.S. The bondage suit [4] (item code SJ-20 on pages 132-133 of their printed catalogue [10]) was part of one such multi-item order, and alone cost a whopping $1850 + tax + shipping + duty + exchange from Canadian dollars, which at the time was sitting around $0.60 per $1 US dollar. Needless to say, i wasn’t going to let a little thing called reason to deter me from building my bondage gear collection, and after all, what’s money for if you can’t spend it on gear!!! :D

For those who aren’t sure what a bondage suit is, basically it’s a jacket and pant combination with lots of lacing on the arms, legs, sides of the torso, front entry, and around the waist to join the top and bottom halves and tighten the suit to a skin-tight fit over the entire body. If you wanted a leather suit to fit like a skin-tight rubber suit, this is as close as it gets! Did i also mention that it’s liberally covered in D-rings on the limbs and torso to provide bondage anchor points? Well, it has those too! :)

With the addition of a Mr.S side-laced [5] or Sci-Fi [6] hood, bondage mitts [7] [8], bondage socks [9], and codpiece jock, you too can look something like this…

…and the feeling of being so completely encased in leather is out of this world!!! *happily wags puppy tail*

Donning and doffing the suit takes a bit of practice and time, especially if it’s your first time, because getting the lacing correct is very important. Lace it too tight, and you’re creating pressure points or “suit-squeeze” that will bring an end to your fun very quickly. Conversely, a suit that’s too loose just isn’t any fun! :(

It’s best to have a knowledgeable Top/Master to assist you, but most of the steps to donning a leather bondage suit can be done solo if you’re somewhat flexible and you’ve had lots of practice before.

i usually like to don the pants first and get the lacing done up and tied off loosely. The reason for this is because once the suit is laced tightly, bending and flexing is severely restricted. Next i don the jacket and get it laced tightly in front and along the sides of the torso, but similarly tied off loosely on the arms. Now comes the fun part, lacing the jacket and pants together at the waist, which i begin to tighten until there are no gaps anywhere between the two. Donning my boots or Mr.S locking leather bondage socks [9] is the next step, because once i begin to tighten the lacing on the legs, bending is going to be next to impossible to do this step. Once i’ve got my feet properly encased, lacing the legs tightly begins, followed by lacing the arms to a nice snug fit. We’re not done yet, because we need to secure the leather belts around the arms and legs and torso. These leather belts go between the suit and the D-rings, not to add more tightness, but to add security for the D-rings. Once a frisky pup, boy, or slave starts writhing around in bondage, it’s possible to pull the D-rings from the fragile leather of the suit, so the leather belts add a level of support for the D-rings and allows quite a bit of twisting and pulling to occur without damaging the suit. The final step in completely encasing a lucky boy in his bondage suit is the addition of locking padded bondage fist-mitts, and a locking leather hood!

Doffing the suit is much easier… once the hood and bondage mitts are removed by your Top/Master first of course. Simply remove all the belts, loosen the lacing on the arms and legs, but don’t remove them, unlace the section around the waist completely, loosen the front of the jacket and pants, and remove the suit. The reason i say not to remove the lacing on the arms, legs, and sides of the torso, is because it will make donning the suit much easier the next time around. It’s actually not really necessary to loosen the lacing on the sides of the torso unless different people with different body types will be wearing the same suit. Once this is adjusted correctly, there shouldn’t be any reason to adjust it again.

Wearing a bondage suit is an incredibly amazing feeling of snug leather encasing the entire body from head-to-toe. If the suit is laced tightly enough, it can limit the mobility of the lucky victim without the addition of restraints. This is because leather doesn’t stretch easily, so the range of motion of the arms and legs, and the twisting and bending motion of the torso, will only move as far as the leather permits, which isn’t much at all.

A few additional features of the bondage suit are the aforementioned D-rings to allow for both vertical, horizontal, and/or any combination of restraint you can imagine, tit-access flaps for nipple torture/play, separate crotch lacing to allow for CBT or the administering of a chastity, torture, or milking device of your choice, and a separately laced ass-access to allow the Top/Master to indulge in the boy’s other ass-ets! ;)

In summary, a leather bondage suit is definitely a premium piece of bondage gear, but in my opinion, well worth the investment, and properly taken care of, it will easily provide decades of bondage fun!

I really want something similar, but in very heavy gauge latex. But leather is growing on me, so to speak :D

i believe Mr.S used to make a rubber bondage suit similar to their leather one, but i haven’t seen it around in a while. Quite possibly it’s been removed from their catalogue.

Not sure i would trust a rubber bondage suit myself, because considering the cost of each, leather can withstand more strain and pulling than rubber, so leather is the more cost effective solution IMHO. :)
