Tough love as you can say it. 

Probationary or Probie firefighters are the well trained, nurtured from nothing to strong do anything Firefighters, well not so quickly but they possess the training needed to begin there journey.  A Probies day at the firehouse never eases during his 6month probation period or as my department his super probation period of 60days, this is where the chief would decide if we keep it or toss it back into the Probie pit. 

From a Probies first day on the job till he hits his 60day mark, 10shifts a months makes 4 months there is not rest. He is first in the door and last out, he makes the coffee, he checks out the trucks, he cleans the station,toilets, kitchen, trash and what ever else we tell him to do ;). Probies learn the fire trucks and equipment inside out and out constantly drilled and tested on there knowledge of the SOP’S and Guidelines.  If I a Probie does as he is told and learns everything he needs to know he might just make it off probation to become a real firefighter, he will still be low man on the totem pole and will be subject to his position but he will learn to love it. 

For those Probies who make it past there probation there will come a day when said Probie/Probies are initiated and welcomed all part of the crew. For my initiation this was around 1999 during a mobile home fire it was a full loss but still you do your best to save anything you can. We were doing overhaul and I was striping the siding-skirt around the trailer frame. The Chief comes up and tells me I need to take the pike pole and crawl under and make sure there are no hot spots. Well half way under the decided to open up a 2 1/2 smooth bore nozzle on my ass that blasted me out the other side of the trailer- I was in full gear with SCBA on that was my cold wet welcome. Later that night I did get to suck some sweaty fireman cock but that is another story for later.

So you ask, What happens to Probies who are Cocky, Mouthy, Know it all little fuck tards. Here is a little preview.
